Evaluate TCKS student and overall school progress toward established standards and goals. Time Commitment: As needed when charged with a task by SBMC.
Evaluate and recommend curriculum to ensure the best possible delivery of curriculum at TCKS. Time Commitment: Once per month, September – April.
Promote a positive image of our school in the community, as well as to positively influence our community in favor of choice in education. Time Commitment: Once per quarter unless otherwise needed.
Educate, motivate and help implement the development of our character education pillar in all aspects of school life. Time Commitment: At least four times per year.
The TCKS Fundraising Committee exists to raise money annually to fund purchases that would otherwise fall outside what our annual budget would allow. Time Commitment: Determined by the timing of the fundraising and social events for the year.
Generate funding in the form of cash grants and grants in kind from external sources. Time Commitment: As Needed.
Hire the best available staff for TCKS. It is comprised of the principal and an equal number of staff members and parents. Committee members are encouraged to serve more than one year to develop consistency within the Hiring Committee. Time Commitment: As needed, February – May. May be asked to participate during the summer break if necessary.
Teach information skills within the framework of the curriculum and to provide materials and services that support the instructional program, as well as quality literature for recreational reading. Time Commitment: Once per month, September – May.
Promote parent education at TCKS. As full partners in education, all parents are encouraged to become informed about educational issues, especially those related to the five guiding principles defined in the TCKS School Covenant. Time Commitment: Once per month, September – May.
Successfully incorporate technology into the TCKS curriculum. This requires understanding, commitment and support of the staff and parent community. Staff development is the catalyst to success. Also, technology is a tool of learning, not just the learning of the tool. Time Commitment: Once per trimester, additional if needed and determined by chair.
Oversee in-class volunteer efforts and seek the most efficient use of parent time and energy toward our educational goals. Time Commitment: Once per month and as needed in the individual classroom.
Promote wellness opportunities within the TCKS community by supporting health screenings, establish sickness protocols and initiate enrichment activities. Time Commitment: As needed when charged with a task by SBMC.
Maintain an outdoor space for students to learn, grow and prosper. Secure garden and landscape materials to enhance the character and success of the outdoor learning process. Time Commitment: Seasonal responsibility as tasked by the outdoor classroom chairperson.
Encourage a positive learning environment for cultural differences and foreign language development. Facilitate teaching opportunities that will enhance cultural learning and understanding in the TCKS community. Time Commitment: Once per quarter unless otherwise needed.
